banner work for christ

At Doxa, we encourage members to work for Christ by serving the congregation. The New Testament picture of the local church is a structure where we all have different skills, talents, and gifts that allow us to care for each other and aid in the building up of the kingdom of God. Although everything we do in the Christian life is working ultimately for the glory of God, we believe and hope that Doxa members find joy specifically in serving one another within our congregation.

Sunday Welcome Teams

Parking Team

Our parking team volunteers assist with directing traffic in and around Doxa Church.  The parking team plays an integral role in the execution of our Sunday morning worship services.  They efficiently direct traffic flow to allow for a smooth transition before, between, and after church services using hand signals and radios for communicating between team members.

Usher Team

The primary role of our Usher team is to greet and engage with people in the Worship Center.  Their duties include: being a welcoming, smiling, and friendly face, helping people find seats and direct them, lifting the pulpit from the ground to the stage and answering questions about Doxa.

Greeting Team

Greet and engage with people on Sunday mornings as they enter the building. There are three primary functions of a greeter: being a welcoming, smiling, and friendly face, directing people to their “first step or next step,” and answering questions about Doxa (using FAQ & weekly announcements sheets).

Connect Room Team

Help visitors take the next step and connect to Doxa. The primary duties of a Connect Room volunteer: be a welcoming, smiling, and friendly face, being able to efficiently navigate the Doxa App and the Doxa Website, helping people (on Connect Room iPad) sign up for Doxa DNA, Small Groups, Serving, Baptisms, Spring & Fall Studies and Classes, and other events posted on the Doxa app or website, and helping first time visitors find and fill out a Connection Card.

Sunday Service

Tidy Team

Help us keep the bathrooms clean on a Sunday! You can expect to serve for one service time, at least once a month, with a focus on addressing spills/wet floors, overflowing trash, and restocking bathroom supplies as needed.

The worship team consists of instrumentalists and vocalists who have a deep passion for the Lord as they use their crafts to minister to the Triune God through song and lead God's people to do the same fulfilling the call of Colossians 3:16 to "Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God."

The production team manages audio, video, lighting, slides, video, and photo for the church. Whether you are a beginner interested in learning or more experienced, there are a variety of ways you can serve in the production team.

Prayer Team

The prayer team primarily serves as a Sunday morning role offering prayer for the Body of Christ and those in need during our weekly gathering.

Communion Team

The communion team aids in the preparation, set up, and clean up of all communion supplies for the entire church on weeks that we partake in communion as the Body of Christ.

Special Services Team

Serve the body by helping prepare and execute creative elements for our quarterly special services: Christmas Eve, Good Friday, Easter, and our Anniversary. Includes lobby decor, stage design, set-up/tear down, and more!

Doxa Kids (Grades K through 6)

Help kids grow in the understanding of their faith through Bible lessons, activities and small groups. Time commitment is one Sunday service a month.

Special Needs Buddies (9am)

Support children with special needs so they can participate as much as possible in kids discipleship. Show your buddies that they are valued and loved, and help them grow in relationship with God. You will be paired with the same child as much as possible. Time commitment - two Sunday services a month is preferred in order to build a relationship with your buddy.

Doxa Kids Mid-week Curriculum Prep

Help the Doxa Kids team by prepping materials midweek for the Sunday service. Pick up the items at the Doxa office, then cut, assemble, staple, or gather and return to the office.

Children's Check-in Host

Greet our families and assist with checking the kids into their rooms. Help welcome new families into our church.

Doxa Kids Hallway Security

Help assist our security team in checking parent/volunteer tags at the DoxaKids entry point as well as being stationed outside the kid's restrooms to assist the classroom volunteers taking groups of children to the restroom as needed.

Doxa Students

Doxa Students Leaders have the opportunity of discipling Junior High and High School students, primarily in the context of Small Groups. Small Group Leaders are responsible for a group of about 10 students, guiding them through discussion, prayer, and building relationship through Wednesday night activities and outside events.

Small Group Leadership

Doxa small groups are our primary way that we make disciples. At your weekly small group gathering you facilitate discussion, prayer, and breakout time for a group of 10-20 adults. But being a small group leader isn't just about leading a meeting once a week, it's about facilitating a gospel centered community and creating opportunities for life on life discipleship. Small Group leaders are disciple makers.

Childcare Team (mid-week opportunities)

Bless Doxa families by being on call to help with midweek childcare during events like Doxa DNA and trainings.
