Topic: Salvation Scripture: Ephesians 1:3–14

Title: Salvation

Text: Eph 1:3-14

1) Election

3 options for your eternal fate

  1. You choose
  2. Satan chooses
  3. God chooses

 2) Effectual Calling

Romans 10:14-17- How will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching. And how are they to preach unless they are sent. As it is written, how beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news! But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Isaiah says, Lord who has believed what he has heard from us? So faith comes from hearing and hearing through the word of Christ.

3) Regeneration

2 Cor 4:4 In their case, the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.

2 Cor 4:6 For God who said Let light shine out of darkness has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

4) Conversion

2 components to the act of conversion:

  1. Repentance
  2. Faith

 5) Justification

2 Cor 5:21 For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

6) Adoption

John 8:42-44a If God were your Father you would love me, for I came from God...why do you not understand what I say? It is because you cannot bear to hear my word. You are of your father the devil...”

7) Sanctification

     3 stages of sanctification:

  1. Positional
  2. Progressive
  3. Perfected

8) Perseverance

Philippians 1:6 I am sure of this that He who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.

1 Peter 1:5- who by God’s power are being guarded through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time-

Eph 1:13-14- in Him you also, when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed in him were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit, who is the guarantee of our inheritance until we acquire possession of it, to the praise of His glory.

9) Glorification

Rom 8:30 And those whom he predestined he also called, and those whom he called he also justified and those whom he justified he also glorified.
