BIG IDEA: Sowing the gospel will face a measure of rejection but the fruitfulness will exceed all measures
1. Explanation
A. Why parables?
3 reasons:
1.) To reveal truth to the responsive- (v. 10-11)
2.) To conceal truth to the unresponsive- (v. 11)
3) To fulfill prophecy- (v. 12)
2. Interpretation and Application
1A. What’s the problem?
Sower?
Seed?
Soil?
All human hearts can be divided into 4 categories:
1A. Soil 1- Hard hearted- (v. 15)
2A. Soil 2- Superficial- (v. 16-17)
3A. Soil 3- Preoccupied- (v. 18-19)
4A. Soil 4- Responsive- (v. 20)
Are you sowing? You can’t control the fruit you bear but you can control the seed you scatter.
