12 Biblical reasons to be fired up about reading your Bible regularly in 2016.
1. January: I want to revitalize my spiritual life
Psalm 19:7- The law of the Lord is perfect, reviving the soul.
1 Timothy 4:8-For while bodily training is of some value, godliness is of value in every way, as it holds promise for the present life and the life to come.
2. February: I want to grow in wisdom this year
Psalm 19:7- The testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple.
Psalm 119:100- I understand more than the aged, for I keep your precepts.
3. March: I want to have more joy
Psalm 19:8- The Precepts of the Lord are right rejoicing the heart.
4. April: I want to have greater clarity
Psalm 19:8- the commandment of the Lord is pure enlightening the eyes.
Psalm 119:105- Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path.
5. May: I want to be a better worshiper
Psalm 19:9-The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring forever.
6. June: I want to know the truth deeply
Psalm 19:9- the rules of the Lord are true, and righteous altogether.
7. July: I want greater victory over sin
Psalm 119:9-11 How can a young many keep his way pure? By guarding it according to your word. With my whole heart I seek you; let me not wander from your commandments! I have stored up your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you.”
8. August: I want hope readily accessible
Romans 15:4 For whatever was written in former days was written for our instruction, that through endurance and through the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope.
Psalm 119:75-I know O LORD…that in faithfulness you have afflicted me.
9. September: I want to know peace in my life
Psalm 119:165- Great peace have those who love your law; nothing can make them stumble.
Isaiah 26:3- you keep him in perfect peace who mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you.
John 16:33 I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace.
10. October: I want to grow in my relationship with Jesus
John 17:17- Sanctify them in the truth; your word is truth.

3. Fortune cookie Bible reading
11. November: I want to serve God better
2 Timothy 3:16-17 “All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be competent, equipped for every good work.”
12. December: I want to want God more
Psalm 19:10 “More to be desired than gold, even much fine gold; sweeter also than honey and drippings of the honeycomb.”
Psalm 119:72- The law of your mouth is better to me than thousands of gold and silver pieces.” V. 103- “How sweet are your words to my taste, sweeter than honey to my mouth.”
Response: Read your Bible. Make Bible reading a regular goal for 2016 and see what God will do with your spiritual life.
