BIG IDEA: Jesus offers you a deeper, eternal healing.

1. Jesus can make you clean
Numbers 5:1-3, “The Lord spoke to Moses, “Command the people of Israel that they put out of the camp everyone who is leprous or has a discharge and everyone who is unclean through contact with the dead. You shall put out both male and female, putting them outside the camp, that they may not defile their camp, in the midst of which I dwell.”
Leviticus 13:45-46 “The leprous person who has the disease shall wear torn clothes and let the hair of his head hang loose, and he shall cover his upper lip and cry out, ‘Unclean, unclean.’ He shall remain unclean as long as he has the disease. He is unclean. He shall live alone. His dwelling should be outside the camp.

Mark 1:40-45

Application: Who is this man? Moses couldn’t do that, the priests couldn’t do that. Jesus can do what the ceremonial law cannot do. The OT ceremonial law doesn’t tell you how to make somebody clean, and it couldn’t heal a person. But when Jesus touches you, he doesn’t become unclean. You become clean. Jesus can make you clean.
How can He do that?

Hebrews 13:12-13 “So Jesus also suffered outside the gate in order to sanctify people through his own blood. Therefore let us go to him outside the camp and bear the reproach he endured.” Jesus chose in joy to bear your reproach, so you can be clean.
