Welcome One Another

Welcome One Another
Romans 15:1-7

Big Idea: Welcome one another as Christ has welcomed you, for the glory of God
To welcome one another for the glory of God, we must…

1. Live a sacrificial life like Jesus (v. 1-3)
Pleasing your neighbor is not fear of man or always doing what someone asks
Pleasing your neighbor is considering the needs of others with the goal of building up their faith in Christ

2. Get and Keep hope through the Scriptures (v. 4)
Three reasons Paul tells us Scripture was written: our instruction, our endurance, our encouragement
The goal of Scripture: that we might have hope

3. Seek God’s help (v. 5-6)
God produces in us what the Scriptures aim for, because he is the God of the Scriptures who inspired them and speaks through them.

Breaking down our big idea:
Welcome one another… “take to yourself”
As Christ has welcomed you… whole heartedly, willingly, freely
For the glory of God… display God’s love, goodness, and grace

How this applies to Harvest - 2 ways generally
First, welcoming one another is the responsibility of every Christian at Harvest
Second, our goal is to glorify God “with one voice”

How this applies to Harvest - 3 ways in Small Groups
People on different maturity levels need to get together for mutual uplifting, growth, and understanding
We study God’s Word for instruction, endurance, and encouragement
We seek God together in prayer, desiring to glorify him in our unity and love for one another
